Importance of Disinfecting High Touch Areas

Many people frequent your establishment each day and it’s important to disinfect high touch areas or “hot spots” to keep healthy staff and prevent the spread of germs to your patron’s hot spots are places that get touched by human hands with relative frequency.  a few examples would be door knobs, light switches, hand rails, phones, desks, computer keyboards, elevator buttons, urinal or toilet flush handles and sinks or faucets, just to name a few

Disinfecting is not meant to replace cleaning.  Infact using too much disinfectant may actually harm your immune system.  Our bodies need to be exposed to some germs and bacteria in order to develop the antibodies that make up a strong immune system.  Plus, all those chemicals can harm your indoor air quality.

Preventative care can extend carpet life.

The key to effective, cost-efficient floor care is preventative maintenance. Trabajillos recommends a long-term care plan for all the floors in your facility. Keep in mind that natural and specialty floors may require care that is more specialized.
Carpet can be a great asset to your company’s environment. It can make a bold design statement, help to insulate your building, and absorb sound. However, carpet is more difficult to keep clean than a hard surface and can attract lots of dust and particles. There are three distinct carpet care processes: preventative, interim, and restorative. These methods must be used hand in hand for the best results.

Here are two necessary tips for great carpet care preventative maintenance:

Vacuum carpeted areas daily: Dirt is easily removed if addressed in a timely fashion, but once dirt gets wet it can become deeply embedded in the carpet. The only difference between a spill and a stain is time. You should immediately blot (never wipe or rub!) the affected area with a paper towel to absorb as much of the spill as possible and make a note for your cleaning staff.

Deep clean every six months: If you have areas of your carpet that are more heavily trafficked than others, steam cleaning – also called extraction – is a great interim step. It should be done every six months in order to keep heavily trafficked sections looking as good as the rest of the carpet.

The easiest way to make sure your carpet lasts is to establish a maintenance plan. Contact Trabajillos so we can develop a schedule for all of your carpet cleaning needs
